If you already have an RF mod incorporated into your setup then i cant see the point in getting a TM-Twin you are investing in Old technology especially the Chipset and processor side where as for ?10 more as you stated above with the Nano2 Super you are basically getting a Vu Solo2 instead of old hat Vu Duo
TM-Twin = Vu Duo Dual core 405mhz processor & 384mb of DDR2 Ram
TM-Nano 2 = Vu Solo2 Dual Core 1300mhz processor & 1GB of DDR3 Ram
For the ?10 difference there is no contest

I am Using the OpenATV 4.2 image on a Gigablue Quad Plus which i like immensely, But seeing as your pretty new to these sort of receivers then OpenVix would be a good starting point
