Hi all,
I?ve had a dreambox 500-C now for over two years and have had no problems until the 30th of May.
On that day I noticed two men working on the Cable TV cabinet near my house and also at least two other men working on the cabinets in the streets near by my house at the same time.
They weren?t driving an official Virgin Media vans just normal white transit type .
When I got home the dreambox reported that there were no channels at all. I did a full brute force scan and checked all the connections but there is still nothing.
I live in Bolton and the area I?m in is strictly an analogue only area but most of the digital channels were available up to around the 730 MHz range above this the BER rate was too high to get a decent picture particularly in the summer months.
I originally had analogue cable and when I enquired if digital TV was available they said that due to the poor quality of the cabling there was no way I could receive it and I read that the analogue signal in my part of Bolton was due to be switch off and I guess that?s what?s happened.
Does anyone know for a fact that this is what has happened and if so do I have any other options or is it all over?
