If you had the car there then why go through all the trouble to take it out the car to read it and write it, when you can do it through obd? What am I missing?

Ohh ok..After you wrote the clear file..Did you read it back with carprog? or you just disconnect it after you wrote the clear file?

It was good after you were finished with it so its something they did...they probably hooked up a car charger and spike off charger fried it?
Or maybe yr A1 cable need repairing.
Did you tried putting module in car and scan it with a regular obd diagnostic scanner to see if you can communicate?

scan tool can not communicate with airbag module, go to BCM missed communication with airbag module, my question is if module data is corrupt CARPROG is able to read, or it need CAN data to be able to communicate,

Good question but if I was to take a guess... Yea I think it should still communicate.

Might have to open it up, apply power and carefully probe with a voltmeter to see where the power stops. check to see if it has that driver chip that commonly burns in the older Mazda units.
I hate when shit happens like this. My CP just fried, just sent it in. Hope they don't screw me.. I'm lost with out it on these.
Good luck

Wow buddy, the EXACT same thing just happens to me today!! Read it, cleared crash, programmed it, then read it back again to verify changes and boom no communication anymore. Not with carprog, not with scanner, not even other modules on the car can communicate with it.
Did you resolve this issue? I think carprog is f***ing up our modules. Wtf...

You have to use other programmer and make JTAG connection direct to board and try to read and verify with other dumps all MCU memory areas (FLASH, EEPROM, SHADOW).
Many of tools which works with CAN (AVDI, Carprog, etc.) have problems programming - example: they select wrong of MCU area to write EEPROM back, and that way destroy some parts of FLASH.
That's why you lost communication with units...

I have some bad experience with Carprog tools years backward. They always make software which not search by some parameters field of crash data or field of mileage data, then they write rote. If one type of modul have couple variants, they will make it problem. That happen to me with some dashboards on VW. Carprog developers are uninterested to do something properly and they are based only to take money from customer and not to make something to work on smart base and something reliably. I know that, so do not disappoint when their tools make shit.
You can not do something properly if at the beginning you did not have the intention to do properly.

Wow, get this.... So I order another module from local LKQ, $150!, and I wasn't surprised to find it also had crash data...
No problem, I have carprog right? This happens AGAIN! Plug carprog into obd, read dump, dumps out fine, then module is DEAD.
ABS, Trac lights on with No Com with RCM codes, scan tool no communication.

It's not a problem with the car, it's carprog fault, mcm44 wrote before where is the problem.

You guys have to disconnect the battery after programming in the car using Carprog obd, should work after that I had same issue in the car, if your doing it on table than idk
