So,as some may already know, when it comes to electronic side of keys,I am very advanced in that field, but in the mechanical side of keys I know nothing of.

What gives me the most trouble is the SIP22 keys that need cutting.
I have gotten myself a cheap Silca Club machine. It already has both types of millers(the thing that cuts the key) and both types of reader(the thing that follows the c**** of original key) of 2.5 and 2mm.I have cut 3 HU66 keys, all worked first time. Then today I first cut 2 HU43 keys, all worked first time.
Next was SIP22 which was total failure. When I started cutting, the miller just snapped, like a match.
I must say I changed over the miller to 2mm.
What can I do prevent this?Maybe I pressed too much,I don't know what happened.

I don't want to get automatic machine yet, because I am not into keys that much, but would like to know how to operate basic machine properly first. There aren't any courses in my country for that.

All advices welcome,
Regards,
Sima

try to find the softest material for you keys (Brass) that will help you to cut smoothly your keys and use HSS cutters because the other ones tend to snap more easily, I think will be a good idea to watch some youtube videos about cutting keys in that way you will be more acquinted with the way in wich you should "attack" the key with the cutter.

I don't know how to explain, but I just knew it would snap, had some sort of feeling.
Yes you are right I was using Widia(told it was more expensive, hence I thought it was better).
I will try HSS as you suggested.
Also since Silca and JMA suppliers here didn't have SIP22 blades,I had to use chinese ones(they are not yellowish colour).
I will make a picture tommorow.
Also on choice of millers I have HSS,Widia and Steelia.

those keys are particularly strong like "criptonite" said one of my old good friends
try to use a magnet to determine if thats the case the key will attach firmly to it try your best to avoid such ones.
but if you dont have other option try to lubricate the key before any attempt to cut it and try to cut it slowly

cut a very shallow depth at first, then cut again a little bit deeper, do this a few times untill correct depth is reached, this will prolong the life of your cutters too.

They go like knife through butter with Silca and JMA blades, but these chinese ones are PITA.
Ill follow your advices and see what happens.
Now I have bought 10 HSS millers just incase,so I can practice :D
