Ikeycutter has another label on but is Condor underneath.
It is a corporate branding issue, and it avoids google showing that the same machine can be bought cheaper elsewhere.
Very few people know what a Miraclone really is underneath the sticker, same principle.

except ikeycutter re-labelled very early before condor was that well known, to do it now just seems cheap to me.

Still think the use of the lishi name on a clearly non lishi product is a bad move. If the machine was circa ?2500 inc vat, i probably would consider it if the warranty, support and updates are any good, but i still can't get past the fact it'll all be available from china anyway...........

Though it does seem to be the trend at present , one or more mainstream distributors are taking on a number of chinese machines that are not clones and selling or rebranding them , kd200 , kd900 , skp900 , ews editor and quite a few more around the world , doesnt appeal to those here that buy direct , but does to countless others who do not buy in china , we can mock , but they wouldnt do it if it didnt give them a return.

in many ways some of our distributors are no longer looking at the established auto locksmiths or even the auto trade as their future market , this has been obvious for a long while now , many are looking to new starts , car dealers , other shops and trades to add car keys to their existing business as a cheap add on line , with trade suppliers travelling the country to put on seminars on getting into this line , some selling on ebay cheaper than they sell via a trade account , and some getting into training heavily to create new markets , its all changing.

The harsh reality is that the set up costs being down to 25% of what they once was , we will see a whole lot more key cutting and cloning services cropping up and a whole lot more cheap keys undercutting the market , we will see car sales and hardware shops expanding this service , we are no longer the market alot of suppliers have their eyes on . clone ford keys from ?25 are fast becomming the norm , id46 are getting cheaper by the month , god help us when id48 is fully cracked on cloning .

at some point in the future , it wont matter what clone or what kit you own , you will be working for buttons or expanding into other areas to keep your level of living .

Not been in this trade for long, but already I can see this, so at the moment, I am trying to stay at the top of my game, but know I need to be looking elsewhere to keep a good income.

might re train as a builder, just had 3 quotes for some work, thieving swines.

The problem is going to be for many , staying at the top of their game , traditionally it was the plentiful easy jobs that paid enough to allow the auto locksmith to reinvest in the future technology to do the new stuff and the more complex jobs , as the simple jobs get fewer due to sheer number now bidding for this work and the prices dropping liking a whores knickers , there will be less of an investment pot for many in the future.

suppliers have had their eyes opened to whole new markets , and now canvass these more and more , im half expecting to see my local baker shop offering car keys soon with a zedfull on counter .

simple if that happens.. just start offering fresh baked rolls from your van parked outside the bakers at supermarket prices ;)

I just tell that type that want to instantly become a locksmith,( and of course take all your business away from you!) that they need to give up their social life for five years while they learn the trade, and take a vow of poverty, also.:joyous:

Sorry, didn't see Invictus Games. By the way, if you want be to good at locksmithing, you have to give up the social life permanently. The last movie I saw in an actual movie theatre was Rocky, before they started adding Roman Numerals. That was back in 79, 80(?). My social life consists of picking practice locks with Lishi picks.:joyous:

I confess that I do listen to radio a bit. I have a 1936 Zenith large tabletop AM Radio, with all the shortwave bands on it also. The only problem is that it just plays the hits of the 20's and 30's.

Are you 100 years old?
What's the secret to your long life?

I'm only 61, but the trick is to feel like you are a hundred at a young age. I feel that every time I get up in the morning. As for the secret to long life-now get ready for this- don't do anything that would make you die.:joyous:
