Hello guys, recently I have swapped my instrument cluster with new one(actually used one). I've done
everything - as it's explained in the RossTech web site Immobilizer III Immobilizer Swapping (Instrument Cluster) - Ross-Tech Wiki (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer_III_Immobilizer_Swapping_(Instrument_C luster))

But they are some issues which I've noticed later. The fuel gauge, speed gauge not working. The speed gauge not working at all, and
the fuel gauge was going up and down like a crazy. On top of that I can't make the remote of the key working via VCDS. Tried couple times to adapt the remote but it didn't say recognised as was expected. Do you have any ideas how to solve it? Any help appreciate it!

P.S. I did google search and found something. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Audi_A4_(8E)_Instrument_Cluster_(8EC/8ED/8HE)
And if it's useful which channels I have to use to resolve the problems?

Cheers

Check channel 60,61 and 62 if the config for the dash is ok.
Otherwise maybe your used dashs was already broken by someone adjusting the mileage wrong.
Upload the dump here

Well, I have checked both instrument clusters, channels 60,61,62 are exactly same way coded. I did also output test and it seems gauges are ok and needles are moving, but when I drive speed gauge doesn't work and fuel gauge is going up and down. I post both dumps here, if there is someone skilled and can help with.

P.S. Is it possible to use the dump file from working dash to put it on the other one?

Both are RB4 but your replacement dash is older and has no crypto. The 2003 one is encrypted.
I will check tomorrow, if I have a non crypto 8E0920900G dump to compare.

I think problem is crypto vs None crypto.

Try attached dump but I believe the dash is incompatible.

As exe123 said.. Dash is incompatible. You can not use older RB4 2001/02 dash in 2003 car. There was a VIN cut off at the end of 2002 car. Main issue is that the speedo will not work. Interestingly (in contrast), the newer 2003 dash will work in an older 2001/02 car.

Yep unfortunately no change with your dump-same not working speedo but anyway thanks for your effort.
One last question, because I have got spare parts and I've got the and the ECU which used to be with this non working dash,
what is the chance if I replace the ECU to get this f***ing dash working?

You can check the wiring diagrams of the car. It could be that non crypto dash from 2001 get's speed via gearbox (****og) and not via CAN.
Anyway this would not fix the fuel gauge. Replace it with a dash from the same year or newer.

2002 speed by gearbox.. 2003+ speed by CAN.

Guess there will be a bit/byte for to configure it in the eeprom but not worth the pain to search for it.
