I really hope you haven?t payed much for that crap ;)

Its like one of these companys that just add a bit of fuel here and advance the ignition a bit there, raise the rpm limit and your ready...

typical pattern looks like this, and thats from your file:

281224

They simply raised ignition advance by 2.6? over the whole rpm and load range.

usually spark and fuel give better power. but real thing is to know how to mod the VANOS! wrong adjustment and it can get serious damage.
tuner pro+ hakenTT damos give good interpretations of the maps

Are you kidding? The file is somewhat wrong in almost every aspect! To be honest, back in that time there was very little to none knowledge about MS43. But today ~95% of the important maps are identified and named, but he hasn?t changed his XDF file ever since.

It can be tuned the same way as every other M54 engine. One just needs to find out the softwareversion of your file and get the right mappack. Building the mappack from the damos is pretty much straight forward but takes several hours to do so. If anyone here is familiar with disassembling by IDA Pro, we may work out something ;)

US spec file? Have you tried that file? Be carefull as the ignition advance is somewhat advanced! Whoever made that file made a mistake in my opinion about trying to raise the rpm limiter ;) I don?t think they took the right one ;)

Did you made that file yourself? I?d start with raising Vmax ;)

No I have not tried it . Someone sent it to me and they claim its a good tune but quickly looking at the timing changes suggests it's garbage. The timing maps from factory is almost optimal for this engine anyway

Ok !
I got news, is not necessary big changes
I made 2 trys until now, I still not using knock device audio or gauge, and Inovate or AFR tool !
but car is better !
this time I did not touch coil spark , and only mod 98oct map and some others few things
still in progress

i want to see what tuners do on vanos maps.

i want to see what tuners do on vanos maps.

What kind of guide is that to rely on other peoples work? Simply book some hours on the dyno and try different settings. The results will give you enough advice how vanos should be handled.

i want to see what tuners do on vanos maps.

The problem with this is that you don't know what works, and what doesn't. How will you know if the changes are good or bad? Then, you write a GUIDE about these changes you know nothing about, further spreading bad practice and information.

I stand by my original help. Take the time to learn how to do it yourself. If after that you want to share YOUR experience, by all means. Asking for passwords for files over the internet from unknown sources helps noone.
