2004 Freelander TD4 Preheat/Glow Plugs

Hi,

I know this is an unusual request but would anyone be able to look at my file and alter it so that it preheats even if the engine is warm?

The car has a lot of mileage done and is becoming hard to start when it is warm. If it is heated by putting power to the relay it starts fine.

Increasing the starting IQ might also help?

It is pretty much the same with this file. I think preheating every start will sort this vehicle if anyone knows how to do it?

Have a look at the changes in winols, I believe I have the right map, may just need further tweaking

I did look. I'm not sure, it doesn't seem to have any effect.

In this post http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f173/bmw-320d-glow-plug-control-map-435403/ someone solved a similar problem on an e46 320D but they say they had to modify four maps? Obviously this is a similar engine & Ecu.

i have increase start IQ 7A1E2 - if you have to much smoke just change map

Try this and report 294580 , but remember checksum needs correcting.

This is not a proper fix, hardware needs fixing.

Have DTC 1260 Pre-fuel rail pressure sensor...any DTC for glow plug not have..I tested relay and glow plugs all ok..not have gnd from ecu for glow plug relay..in any moment have activate relay and glow plug work,not have control light on dashboard.

Is this car tuned? Sound like fuel pump problem.

I don't know is car tuned..coustomer have problem with start when is small temperature...fuel pump work maybe long time before start car...glow plug don't work every time on first start car,on dashboard not have light control...with actuator test work relay glow plug and dasboard light control for glow plug..I try disconect ect sensor and relay glow plug work all time.

You only need glow plugs if temp is -2 deg. I think your problem is elsewhere. Start with low pressure pump, it should not run for more than a few seconds. Check the injector leak off. You may be losing pressure over night.

doo some tweeting, but rover75 and freeloader, if ever jump started caused 1260 code, but don't know why.

Bondiblu,I tested your glow adjust file and now work glow plug..first time I can't write all modificate,one line not write with galleto 2...when tested glow work,I think be good...thanks for help..best regards!
