So to start off this new forum I have ordered this:

Wholesale Product Snapshot Product name is M8 Amlogic S802 Quad Core 4.4 Android 2GB RAM 8GB Smart TV Box XBMC 2.4G/5G Dual Wifi HDMI Mini PC Media Player 1080P HD 4K 3D (http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6269981994.html)

I figured that at that price it was worth the risk. I have had a dispatch email so it should be here in a few days. I will let you know how it works but it has to be better than a Raspi where you can grow a beard waiting for it to cache and load lists.

Youll be blown away if your so used to the rasp pi....that m8 is good and has a nice spec on it but theres way better droids available but its a good starter.
New rk3288 chip is in newer units and proves to be a winner.
The android tv box scene is moving so fast its hard to keep up with all the changes.
Nice to see DK have joined in.

Hi freck
Been thinking of trying these boxes myself but know next to nothing about them, having been into sat TV for many years. Was just wondering if these boxes are the road to go down as the sport channels become less available on sat TV.

Just had an email to say the seller has been found doing "suspicious activity" so got my money back. :bawling:

Have to go and find another one now. It's Elric's fault, he gave me the link.

Bummer Vic, was waiting for your verdict on it. Keep us up to date on other purchases. At that sort of price I am interested.

I have been using the Gbox MX2 for the last year or so. Spot on with XBMC and recently upgraded to KODI with no problem at all.

You can find an older review here G-Box Midnight MX2 - FULL REVIEW WITH XBMC TEST - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqfPO5uxKRw) Bought on Amazon without the need to visit China :D

I don't use Mashup that much maca, it was closed two days ago but there may be a fix by others taking up the mantle. I will try to get a link for you.

It will be back in another guise soon, but this may help as a stop gap until then:
