1999 Benz C280 VDO Dash

Hello,

Got a '99 VDO dash from a C280 with what it seems a busted stepper motor for the RPM gauge. It goes up, but it no longer returns... Playing with these gauges I noticed they don't have a spring.... they are just stepper motors... So it could be the driver or the actual gauge motor....

Anyone seen this before? A suggested fix?

If you are not sure about motor or driver swap motor to speed and test.

True. Before spending hrs on it, I wanted to see if this is perhaps a known / common problem..... Will do a swap and see what happens.....

Common issue in this motors is tremble and don?t work (gear demaged).

Well, this one goes up.... but never returns.........
