Can't read this chip so think dead.

read before off old Golfs with 2M crystal with no probs so should be easy..
but this time have same socket (yeah cpu removed from PCB) but with 4M crystal as original PCB.



Otherwise any other advice guys/chat on this wet sunday?

EDIT: Will retry, but does anybody know if only VIN matched ?
ie I can get another chip & image so do repair -

Yes you can get another chip just read without removing it using UPA, edit the vin and program a key. You're good to go.

As above... dont forget these often fail because the MCU is dead.

Here we go - top of page 17

Note on pins 58 and 59 have a 4Mhz crystal (not shown here!).
All the other pins are as diagram. a QFP64 adaptor would of been supplied with your xprog. i prefer to use this adaptor than incircuit :)

My problem guys was just a bad connection -resoldered and worked fine.

Problem is electrical short of power n BUS in this grand cherokee - common so i read :)
