Im looking on info or how tos on using a Tech 2 scanner

I just bought a clone of Tech 2 and it seems I need something else because I cant access a lot of options
the biggest thing is I mainly bought it to access and add serial numbers to GM clusters
I do speedo work and sometimes have the need to program serial into cluster and all I get is last step it wont communicate
Ive been reading some about the TIS2000 to use with this but Im a rather dummy sometimes and I guess Im lost
please any help or pointers will be appreciated

i don't think u can add vin numbers to gm dashes by using the tech2
what model cars r they

a tech2 can only program some stuff in the new dashes if they are new or reset to new

the tech2 can program the minor configurations on most dashes but u need approval

and with the later stuff u might need to hook up the ecu and bcm to the cluster to be able to program it
