Merc A class, new ECU in Gearbox and DAS

Does anyone know specifically how to make the new ECU work. The car is a 2007 A class Mercedes and whatever I tried it wanted to ask Daimler and refused to do anything because it had no internet connection.

DAS is 2011 and I only really use it for my Smart car but someone asked me if I could do this and I thought it should be able to.

OK, I thought that if this thing connected to the net then my DAS would get stuffed?

Do they charge for that, they charged ?1000 for the computer, damned cheeky of them if they want even more for a goddam number to make it work.

I tried that by putting the old ECU on the plug then reading and putting the new one on then writing but it did not work. There was no change in the car after I did it though it did give me some weird messages and a list where I could input numbers. I bottled out at that point, the damage you can do to these things when you don't know what it is about is pretty scary. It doesn't help when half the messages are in German which I can't read.

Did you manage to find way to transfer info from old to new? Or any one know solution from old to secondhand?
