Opcom Help Please

Hi all, i will upfront and honest.
I am not in any way a mechanic nor do i know anything about cars (i don't even drive).

I help people with their computers/laptops and was asked by a friend of a friend to help him with something called an OPCOM.


I have no idea what the device is used for all i know is that he has the hardware and software working but apparently the software is a very old version (080114) and only allows him to use with cars up to 2007.

I have seen a version 131223C which i downloaded from op-com.hu (http://www.op-com.hu/Downloads_EN.aspx) and installed but it asks me to activate. I tried using the code generator on the same site but this asks for a Computer ID however the opcom software doesn't give this, instead giving a really long number in a square box so i don't know how to activate.


I have seen on this forum you have a version 120309a which i've now downloaded but when opening and clicking diagnostics it asks me to activate and presents the same screen as the 131223C.

Any help would be appreciated

the number you are talking about is the release date 131223 is 23/12/13

hi cqae, i figured version numbers were based on dates :)

I just need some help getting the software to work. It won't let me use it till its been activated but the download from here says it doesn't need activating.

Did you remove old version of opcom before you downloaded new version

Hi autoden, yes old version was removed.

Anyway, i think its all sorted now. In the end there was a mess of files across the root of the C:\ drive so i reformatted and reinstalled windows XP and all now appears to be working.
