Purely for duplicating, i have just got a new key machine to copy laser keys etc but can I get an adapter to copy regular style keys? I don't really have the space or need to get a machine just for that job.

no the tracer / cutter can not follow the profile of old style keys as it wouldn't fit in the sharp angle.
You would be able to follow the profile if the key was cut via A5, condor etc

if you built special adaptor , it possible and but not worth the time and money

no it wouldn't be, may be a few keys would work but a lot would give problems or wouldn't work, you would need a 1mm cutter or less to stand any real chance and it would take hours cutting away all the material with a small cutter - unless you cut with a big cutter and work your way down to a tiny one, either way this isn't really practical.

does it trace original keys using 2.5 mm I dont think so, it has to change the profile to suite the milling cutter - theres a reason why all the keys look strange when cut on viper/a5/condor as you can't cut a small angle using a relatively large circle.
this is why I said you could cut a key thats been cut with a a5/condor/viper as these keys will have a profile that has not got the sharp angles.

i not saying it will be perfect, any way a chip machine from china cost 100$ and it will cut around 3000 keys without changing the cutter

no it wont be perfect as it wont work ;) but yes you can get some pretty small decent cylinder machines for next to nothing, and no vertical machine even cnc can beat the feeling of cutting a key in a few seconds.
