No problem to read and write on board with UPA and my adapters! Arthur.

damage, write as 93C66, but the solution is to read and write in circuit with my "dongle" .... but:

read 3.6 volts, 4.5 volts write, regulating the voltage, solved

There shouldn't be any need to change the voltage. Certainly not a 4 day job. Had a board in my scrap bin with the eeprom still on (in miles). here is the dump, in case you need it and a pic of it being read. Arthur.

Just looked at the board again. I must be going daft. It's not a 5 series it is a 3series. but the chip and configuration on the board are the same. The dump is no use for a 5 series though.

Hey Tam. I thought you might have got a dongle for Christmas but as you say what's wrong with taking it off the board in the first place? The difference being I knew my adapter would do it no problem. Obviously Claudio wasn't sure what he was dealing with ie. a BMW 520i E46 which became an E34 on closer inspection but never an E39 and was it a 93c56/s56, 93c66/s66? Happy new year. Arthur.

Here there are very few European cars, so little experience, but I got four of once. E46, Happy New Year Arthur.

if the voltage is not important, because some programmers have voltage regulator or/and has octal non-inverting buffer?

Claudio, as we both use a UPA, the difference must be in the adapters/dongles. Mine works without altering the voltage, yours doesn't or didn't on this job. Now this is a 15 year old car which I have been using my circuitry on for years now. How it works is not up for discussion but you can be assured, it does work, every time. No dip switches to alter voltages, just straight forward plug and play. If you don't get many European cars, you might find that your dongles will not cope in circuit with some PSA bsi's and certainly many airbag ECU's. Arthur.

My adapter works Also, I made the mistake written as 93C66, When is 93S66, and unsolder the chip just to check. There are many post with this "Error" and here in other parts.
My adapter is the same as yours but improved with The voltage regulator, the original idea is not mine or yours, there are many examples online. up is a image of your adapter.
But discussion was another; "Not to Promote your adapters or mine."

Happy New Year to all
