After recalibrating dash, have no communication with car, CGW only. Disconnecting battery not help, pressing SET button not help too ( tested many times), I think need repair eprom or write CGW eprom from another car

I've had this a few times, you need star online to recode. Easiest this is to find a Mercedes specialist in your area and pay him to recode the car.

The gateway is in built in the front SAM, basically the front fuse box assembly. There are inside two 9S12XEQ384's. It's just one that gets altered.

If you have Boot mode, you can repair in eprom. If you lost battery power in programming, you need repair flash or and eprom ( you can use flash data from another CGW) CGW SW No. you can find in dump header

It's possible, you must use your brain and many dumps samples. Remember AVDI read 256 kb flash and xprog or upa read 386 kb flash, but difference in not used area!

I was trying to find a quicker solution that could be done without going back to workshop to use star online

If you have good dumps, no problem to recover with FVDI, but if you lost battery in programming, you need program CGW with programmer, and you will not have good flash! With fvdi CGW will not respond any way. Use changer when make km with FVDI or make full backup with programmer: it's the best way if you want to do new km without risk!!!

i had same problem using original avdi, cgw went into boot mode as laptop battery died half way. this can be sorted all via obd using avdi.
go to it as you do when changing mileage dont select get just put the figure 0 and select set, and wait 5 minutes everything back to normal. you might have to try a few times

Hi guys
My problem was a front sam that was water damaged,i then managed to get another from the breakers which came from a automatic trans.At first i was getting PRND on the clock but the car is manual trans and it wont crank from the key,so i got my AVDI and disabled the automatic gear enabled and now the display on my clock doesn't have the PRND but it still wont crank from the key,but if i crank it direct from the starter,the car runs and i can drive to were ever and back as long as i dont shut it down.
does any one know of a feature that needs disabling for it to crank from the key?
I wish the old SAM could communicate with my AVDI to see whats enable and disabled in the features in the CGW.

Your eprom in boot mode, flash is corrupted too! I can repair this,but you need programmer ( xprog ) to write repaired flash!

Seems will be not Ok, flash is BAD, SCN can repair eprom data only. I can repair your eprom, but you need repaired flash too to CGW good work. If you can write flash, I will repair it to you. Some times it can be done in OBD, but I think the best way is xprog. CGW located in from SAM, MCU is not secured. I will sent instructions how it can be read with 4 wires :)

After millage calibration, CGW stay in boot mode, and all ECUs lost communication, only CGW was communicate with diagnostic testers, i tried to read flash from from CGW with AVDI, but no LUCK :((( Tried few times, only let me read via OBD is EEPROM from CGW... and before ask help, i tried all solutions posted on DK and no luck....

When i fixed eeprom by previous solution, and write it back to CGW, CGW stopped communicate TOO!!!! :( (No communication with CGW and cant read-write eeprom via obd too)...
After that i thing Flash have to be repared, and i took out CGW (Front SAM), and read Eeprom and flash directly....

Min2XX please check my posted files, new UPA reading 3M25J Motorola with no problems...

then just use your clone avdi and try to read eeprom or flash , and try to make new Km on obd,
if it Zgw corupted after clone avdi, the read again with X-prog or Upa, and comare what is wrong......then you will found your self solution for this

I check back my dump. I editted one byte wrongly. It is working now. I didn't try Frankcar dump.

Anyways, I still can't finish my job. Still can't block cgw sync and smok killed it again.

Any suggestion to do a clean job for this? Tried to renew Ezs but still can't get the mileage I want.

CAN SOMEONE PEASE REPAIR W212 CGW. I DID MILEAGE CALIBRATION WITH ORIGINAL AVDI AND NOW SAM IS DEAD I THINK I HAVE FLASH CORRUPTED SINCE MY ORG EEPROM READ VIA OBD IS SAME AS EEPROM I READ ON BENCH.

if you have original avdi then is not problem,
just click write without read,
it will fix automaticaly in a few minutes,
car can work all this time

i think my eerom is good. Only P flash is damaged. I have saved only eeprom with avdi. Not FLASH.

I have do only with AVDI original obd i lost much time for reper in table but not suces
i think only with obd can reper or ather sam end do scn coding

OK, tried my repaired dumps in the car and everythink works like a charm!!!!
the big problem was to find flash with the same number because I had corrupted flash as well.

You can use Vediamo connect CGW with OBD (SDconnect),
it will show in bootvarient...
try flash with original .CFF
After flash back working firmware your CGW should boot up properly and connect back to all other modules in car.

I did flash with original firmware and re-code CGW SAMF SAMR IC back to previous backup then everything back to normal.
However my IC204 dash become 999999km
don't know how to fix it...:upset:

Hi I need CGW w212 repair I tried eeprom repair no luck I suspect the flash as well fault was mine after mileage correction no comms on vechile only CGW but eprom repair not working so flash must also have problem.

also cant comunicate with other ecus

what tool do i need to read/write eeprom?

CGW pin is sinple 4 wires
Milage sucsess 100% mount CAN blocker to EIS ( or refalch EIS to new state ) and do not make block in CGW by flashing!
Now you can make milage in dash
That all what you need :)
