hi to all!
i have a w211 cluster that has a problem with the display...it is very bright...i change the display with a working one...its the same...where can it be the problem??

why dont you use that dash in the background only swap dials and eeprom? or leave it as is and let him have avantgarde cluster :)

i know what u mean..i tried to change the eeprom...but it is strange about coding...it appears diferent menus in display.....btw i want to repair this one...if can u help

If it's a vacuum tube display it may be getting too many volts, most VTDs have a switching power supply to supply them with around 28V (depending on design). Do some voltage testing on both clusters to see if you can narrow down the problem. If the voltages are OK, the display may be bad, perhaps you could swap it?

I repair many same dash for left and right display ..(problem not lighting and temperature and fuel not show true).resolder 2 chips dry solder...for central display maybe clusters right .change vogt...
