MERCEDES W202 DOUBT EZS

Hi friends

I have a Mercedes C202, 1998 CDI, with VDO dashboard.I need to correct the milaege, this car has EZS.
If I only correct it in the dashboard what can go wrong?
If I don't change the mileage in the EZS, when I replace the dashboard, could it assume the value of the EZS?

Is it possible to do it just in the dashboard with any problem?
