im wondering if there are any decent cable tv cards that can be accessed remotely to record things?

dont know if the technotrend cards have a facility to do this, i think the satversions have but not sure about the cable

For accessing remotely, it doesn't matter what the card is, you'll just need to be able to connect to the PC somehow. SSH, HTTP or whatever. Whether or not you'll find software for it I don't know, but there's fundamentally no reason it won't work. I assume you're on windows, so I can't recommend anything, but I know that a linux based system would work fine, either through a frontend like mythtv, or directly from the terminal.

Yer , it's not the card thats important, it's the software that's running.

I'm sure many of the big name Win32 DVB apps will have a webserver built in.
