The new Lishi 3in1 features abilities to not only pick and decode auto doors and trunks, but can also pick the ignition as well.

This not true ! 3-in-1 was designed to confused people. The definition of 2-in-1 is picking and decoding in one tool. Mr. Li already has many tools which picks and decodes ignition before 3-in-1 was marketed by the marketing company last year, the marketing company does NOT design and make tools, they are just a middleman. Mr.Li designs and manufactures all of his tools in his factory, most importantly he is a locksmith and he knows what we need. Period.

That is not actually the case james and a tad innacurate a comment from you , the 3in1 range has a growing number of tools that have been and are about to be released that also do ignitions where 2in1 does not including ;
HON58R
TOY48
KIA7
NE72
HU43 ( that actually works well on vectra c doors and ignitions )
VA2
VA6 phase 1
these are already available , being released over the comming 12 weeks is ;
VAG 2015 pick only for those just wanting an entry solution
VAG 2015 phase 1 ( 2014 plus polo , golf and some seat using the new 8 cut keyway without side cuts )
VAG 2015 phase 2 ( used on audi TT and other models 2015 on using the 9 cut key with 3 side cuts )
NE75
NE71R
NE38
GT15R
HON66 ( so no need to remove the antenna first)
VA6 ( that can actually decode the clio 3 and aygo locks accurately with its exact and simplified grid )
Thats all coverage not available in the 2in1 range and adds to the existing tools that do not need converting to become 3in1 tools , so what they are doing is far more than a play on words , so from this list you can see that they do design and manufacture tools and they do so in their own factory with their own engineers , developed and tested by a team of locksmiths , so via a team of locksmiths they are developing alot of different tools and with another 8 new tools in development on top of the above they are also designing many new tools with the help of a team of locksmiths , cad drawers and engineers .
They are 2 competing brands yes , working on very different developments and additions to their ranges , with mr li currently having a wider range of 2in1 but genuine lishi having a far bigger range of ignition tools especially tools for the european market as this is the route they chose to take . which is far better for all locksmiths as it gives them a far bigger range to choose from as have 2 developing companies bringing out differing solutions to gaps in coverage .
i am and always will be one of mr li's biggest fans , and i still have all of his tool range and still buy his new releases and use them daily as i like to have all options available to me , but i also have all of the 3in1 range and use these daily too , prefering one manufacturer over the other on different jobs , and as a working auto locksmith im glad of all and any solution that makes my job simpler.
Far from being a name that was used to confuse , 3in1 differentiated their ignition enabled tools from their 2in1 range , giving them 3in1 , 2in1 and reader tools and of course their nV range , so although i am a fan of mr li tools and mr li , i have to say that the comment is innacurate on them not designing and developing new tools and on their being no differences between their 3in1 range as they have the widest range of ignition enabled tools available at present .
personally i look forward to all new development that both manufacturers bring out and look forward to an extensive coverage from all manufacturers of these tools as at the end of the day the winners are the locksmiths like me who need more and more solutions and the latest lock solutions and a far wider ignition coverage which is needed , i hope both continue in their differing directions as if the case then the range of solutions and coverage grows far quicker for all of us that use these tools on a daily basis .
im far too busy working to get involved in the games manufacturers play and the cheap shots they and their spokes persons fire at each other , its a waste of energy when theres far more important things to worry about and be doing , i appreciate you have a financial and vested interest in rubbishing competing brands but its pointless if not accurate , so lets disagree and move on and lets hope that they either work together or continue in seperate directions to give us the locksmiths what we really need , wider coverage and more solutions .
i hope you are well james and i hope mr li is well also , i send him my fondest regards and wish him well as always .

Some 2 in 1 like va2 for citroen wont enter completely in ignition lock and is unsuseful for picking / decoding.

You will find that both VA2 and VA6 2in1 of all makes will not fit into the ignitions nor on alot of the later VA2 and VA6 door locks all the way , this is due to a facecap change on some later model vehicles doors and on older vehicles if a new face cap is fitted for any reason , The VA2 and VA6 3in1 however do fit in these nicely , as the adjustment needed for the ignition also resolves this issue and you will be able to pick and decode these .
also for those interested in just opening and not decoding , the va2 pick will open both the va2 and the va6 lock and vice versa , only the grid and the decode due to height differences need seperate tools, so if only after entry into cars then just one or the other 3in1 will do them all for you.
