Greetings All -

I have a friend with 2013 year BMW 1 series and it needs new CAS module.
He order by VIN from BMW, and it came with keys also.

Can I program the CAS to this car with AVDI?
Is it dangerous to try it?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

2013 should be f serie and there is no cas.

It's do not think it is an F series, rather CAS3+

The car uses PCF7945 key

Unless of course there is F Series that uses PCF7945....?

Let me give a little more info -

My friend had an issue with the car and he replaced the CAS. Before he replaced the CAS, the car was completely dead.
After he replaced it with a brand new CAS ordered by VIN from BMW, the car starts with the two new keys (and the old key) that came with the CAS. However, the car
is in limp-home mode and there is an engine code that remains. I do not have the code.

When I say replace the CAS, I mean he removed the old one and installed the new one - that's it. No programming at all.

So I am thinking - the CAS needs to be properly married to the car. This is why I ask if the AVDI can do anything to help
this situation. Any thoughts?

When you buy a new cas from bmw it comes part coded to the car, you will need to fully code it using a suitable tool. The last one i did i used autologic to code it in. But i've been told original avdi can do it if you have licences BN010 and BN012

it depends isn...maybe it needs synced, Avdi inpa etc can do this....It also may need to sync with ELV...AVDI also can do this.

There is no Sync needed for such model, DME in this car is SK, not ISN.
Just try to recode the CAS, no need to reflash.
if same problems, check what's wrong in OTHER ecus, CAS should be OK
