Problem with ZedBull clone and software

Hello, today i have tried again to write a 7936 for Fiat car with zedbull clone and EFfi software...
it's impossible to write...
the module is number 57...i have tried to use also other modules with 7936 but have same errors...
is problem of software or device problem?

@rebound you can only prepare transponder with effi and calculate pin code, but key need to be added on car trough diagnostic device, read carefully what write on module 57 description...

i have tried to increase attemp to number 10...tried to write 7936 AA and after many times it have writted...
i want know if are problem of device or software

the antenna is weak, need to replace or change the position of the transponder :)

You are using effi cracked or from author? I belive a effi cracked version is not working good

and zedbull clone is SH!TE - another one broken now, says ERROR 2 and dont go no further, just ordered another one but will be well pissed off if sierra makes me pay for yet another licence :(

Open it up and they are a really easy fix, ?3 for a genuine FTDI chip, few little tweaks and they work a treat.
Bring yours to the show on Saturday and we will have a look at it.

This one has licenced effi so would like to get it working again, it went faulty after power supply was loose.

Cant make the show mate, ford keys not turned up yet so ive opted to work on sunday too.

Is Sierra still making updates for the Effi software? I think the Effi site where you used to be able to buy the software is no longer active, where can i buy the software?

You can get the FTDI 232RL from RS Components.

are you sure that this is the problem with my zedbull? it turns on and after the welcome message, it shows error 2?

When i received my Zedbull it was not working, i open it and only need resolder just over FTDI 232 , and now is working. Other Fail in my device is that when press "ESC" button it stay hold and appear KEYBOARD ERROR! , need free it and restart device. (HIGH QUALITY CHINA)

i think you'll find the id of the machine isn't in the FTDI all that is, is to convert the unit to usb internally instead of it being an old com port, it's a serial controller chip is it not? it has no relevance to whatever tool it is soldered into...... Although that raises the question..... where is the id of the machine stored? that could mean you could rewrite your id and therefore licence into a few machines could it not?

I dont want to buy another licence for another shite zedbull, so could really do with this one being repaired, also, if that FTDI is only for serial-usb then why would that make my machine faulty?

yours sounds like a fault in the zed itself, i have heard of people unplugging the keyboard and that clears faults, i may be wrong. Have you had it apart?

ive had it apart and re soldered everything in sight, but still the same, the last mini zed i had died due to a dodgy power supply to, but that one just would not turn on :(

AFAIK, the ID that EFFI ties to is the ID of the DS2432 in the original ZB minis.

This DS chip isn't physically present in the latest ones so I presume its just a randomly generated ID stored in the main Atmega. Unfortunately neither is the RS232 circuitry so no way of easily hooking up a TPX cloner either.

I tried everything on my old zedbull mini, still not working, so got another - and i swapped AT to old zedbull and it is working, but serial is in AT, so im fcuked again - here come another licence, sierra must make a fortune out of these crap zedbulls :(
