original AVDI, but still fails on the odd model/year/bsi combination - had bad experience with smok tools in the past.

So basically
both these company's suck
hate how we buy tools
then turn into testers
and we to foot the bill if goes wrong and no support
only industry I know gets away with it

and all slag Chinese for no support
when none available for genuine tools

I agree, the developers in this industry get away with murder - how can you sell an item that says it will do all keys lost on cas 3+, but dont work?

If this was the case in any other industry, they would be strung up.

But looks like we have come to expect this, and live with it, in the hope that all will be rectified.

ps - at least KAP reply, SMOK complete silence.

I bought smok tool a 1 week ago, I have tried read pin in two cars without success...

First was Citroen C4 from 2005 with Jonson Control No Crypto BSI, tool says "model not supported by OBD" smok support says that this BSI is no supported as they says at the specifications "Jonson Control No Crypto (not all models supported)" - OK

Yesterday I tried on Citroen C4 picasso from 2007, with Jonson Control Crypto BSI, at the specifiactions says "Jonson Control Crypto (all version)", after flashing BSI that takes about 10 min, says model not supported by OBD, no answer from support until now. At least didn't kill BSI....

So until now I don't have good opinion about smok PSA

is there an option to read/save the eprom??

jacostanzo

You must buy this option. If only buy Pin reading, can't read eprom.

Smok bad support, never answer me.
Last black-ball for smok was a C5 2011 1.6 hdi , after save flash ( my safety measure ) then i "Write Fast KM" then save again flash. Car start-stop function not working. Tryed to disconnect battery, write back "my safety measure flash" which was different from dump saved by "Write fast km". I verify with diagbox and start-stop function is active on BSI. Car was at dealer, dealer asserting that problem is from BSI . Car start-stop function not solved yet.

yeah that is nothing new that the old one has been cloned, its almost 2 years since i know that there is a clone of xcan vag. I heard that this is the reason why UHDS came to live, cant be cloned. for now..

I purchased this smok pin reading haven't had a chance to test, so far support seems ok, my tool locked and got unlocked with a few hours.

As for smok mileage psa and dp3, i think its roughly same league, dp3 has improved writing time to 7mins for most BSI's. DP3 is always slightly ahead. e.g. 308 fully obd etc.

The only tool you get good support is hickleys/AD products.

Where you get this tool

you can not buy it anymore.. it was about ?65 on ebay but they sold the project to http://www.thediagnosticbox.com/ thats what the seller told me

looks like psa-com can now do it the way PSAI2EMU does, as well as doing service mode on some bsi's

seem to hear different results

seems to be a massive difference with smok between mileage and pin reading

sparkz02
29th August, 2015, 02:01 AM
indeed i think if you have mileage package then you can read eeprom and decode pin that way around.
