Hi guys. I have a problem with a VW Golf R 2.0 TFSI med9.1. Writing stopped at 57% and the car doesn't start. Fans on. So I open the ECU, I write the ori file via bdm, but same problem. The car doesn't start and fans on.
Someone can help me?
Attached the bdm read after break, and the ori file readed before by obd.
Thanks a lot!

How did you read ori file first time?

the bdm readout after failed flash looks like a bomb was dropped there, but ori seems good. It is strange after flash ori back car not start.

Read via obd with g@lletto

And after write ori back with bdm, do you have comms with ECU, can you see any DTC? or ecu still dead?

cawadany

Ecu still dead, no communication

Maybe you killed it when you opened?

Ori file is good, all checksums good. Read back with BDM, if readout is same as ori and car not even crank, ecu is 99% dead. :(

The ECU is perfect, no damage in opening.
After writing ori by bdm, I have read by bdm.
Attached the backup.

Can you communicate with ECU via diagnostics?

backup read after write ori is 100% same as ori, so... seems ecu dead. :(

you must synchronize with the anti start

First what tool you use when work with OBD?
If you use MPPS try check again he see ID or no!
IF yes write back orig file.

I have found this file ori same hw sw, and I saw that it's slightly different from my ori file...... If I try to write this one?

morgano

no, that changes you see is RSA that is personal unique to your car. Your ori is 100% ok, no need this one.

You have must done something wrong and damaged the ECU. Maybe key left on ignition while you removed ECU?. I had failed writes on me9.1 (one was on cupra R same thing as yours) but actually every time could repeat the write via OBD not even needed to rebuild it with BDM.

No, always removed with battery disconnected

I'm not familiar with this ecu, but...
Originally OBD read and BDM read is the same on this car?
If reads are different (size could be the same, but different content "size" inside the file), if you write obd read by BDM don't expect car to start :)
Take bdm read from other car with the same SW and mix with your obd, than write this mix by BDM.

Must be the same

MED9.1 OBD dump is complete dump, not partial, can be used to flash by BDM without problem.

ECU is in programming mode, your BDM won't help, you need to flash it on bench with manual connecting over pins, once programming is finished ECU will be out of programming mode and then all will be fine and car will be running again..

A few days ago there was a similar story with EDC16C34 , mpc dead but reading
and writing ok. MPC heated at power?

In my case, the unit has been opened up to me and work good before writing via OBD .
It is just you are not lucky :sorrow:.

Happened 2 times on same ECU and was ok afterwards, this is called experiece! I am doing over 10 years now this business. Try it, it will safe you new ECU costs, otherwise you won't get it back alive.

Problem solved. Eeprom was corrupted. ECU hardware is ok, not dead.

My flash was ok. Obd read = bdm read. But car not start. I have found a bdm backup same hw sw. Put this eeprom (logically with immo off) and this flash and the car starts.
So the eeprom dump was corrupted.
