Can someone tell me the difference between the M2 and M3 units? I believe the M2 was on sale for a few months and had an "unspecified" hardware issue.
Does anyone know what that "issue" is?

My M2 is fine but due to no more support from Phantom is getting pretty useless...am thinking of getting another box..

Cheers

whats pretty useless about it? it will run C and N connections, has a great deal of channels opening on softcam and biss, has a cracking tuner with blindscan and will run a usals motor and switches. compared to some of the shite out there its a cracking easy to use box with a good hd picture. personally id go for the M2 before the M3 regards mdt

A lot of stuff is broken, very slow downloads, and doing anything to open channels is a pain in the backside. Oh and my remote is f****d too.
Picture is good though, you're right.

I would possibly try another patch as the last one 142p had quite a few fixes in there i know that the HS 1&2 have now stopped working but is that not a good thing LOL. I have both the M2 and M3 and personally there is nothing between then Tuner wise but the M3 runs a lot faster and seeing as its TM's latest Closed source unit will still have support for the time being.

That does not mean that support has stopped on the others the M1 which the M2 basically is has been around nearly 5 years and still had patch updates till late last year so not too bad at all

My M2 still works fine with all the added bits, one thing I will prob need at some point is a box that will do IPTV as well.

the 5402HD M3 does IPTV but its a bit more of a gimmick than an actual second source for channels, you should really look at getting an Enigma2 based receiver for your next if any purchase

Would you (or anyone for that matter) buy another closed-source box, or go for an open source receiver? I hate Linux...is the only reason I don't have one!!

I have both the only reason for this is say at the weekend there are 3PM EPL feeds its quicker to get the frequency scan and then enter a Biss key if needed into a closed source receiver than what it is an Enigma2 linux one, The Linux receiver is good for 4:2:2 feeds and stream to a Lappie.

Just my opinion
