This is a good one. I have a customer that bought a 2006 Vito with no key or EZS (and all plugs from EZS missing - cut off). He bought an ECU kit from ebay (ECU, clocks, airbag module and steering lock). The ECU had a slightly different number but it eventually started the van (apart from having to solder in new EZS plugs there was a fuse blown, relay missing and CAN bus from ECU was disconnected behind pedals - go figure).
Now the van starts although it has ABS/traction light on - can't remember fault codes (not too concerned about this yet).
The airbag module supplied with the new ECU kit is a different module to the original - ie. totally different plug - it doesn't fit. Obviously with the original airbag module from the van it gives a fault code showing wrong Vin/EZS ID data.
I was wondering if there is any way to copy the EZS ID data from the new airbag module (which obviously matches the new ECU/EZS etc.) into the original airbag module so that it will be happy with the new ECU/EZS. Or will it be easier to reset the old airbag module to a virgin state and recode to vehicle - if so a bit of info on this would be appreciated.
The original module with the wrong ID is 0285001448-Q5 with 68HC912D60. This needs the EZS data from the new module 0285010054-Q1 with TMS470 and 95320. Eeprom dumps are attached.
