H got a bmw 123d 2008 car coming, anyone know what year from need to do boot mode ? im hoping obd possible

i did with obd (fgtech) many of these cars. 1 Car 123d was not reading, then i think is bootmode..

You can probably read but not write modded file which I found in the past on a 2008/9 320d in which case then it's done by boot

Depends of software level in ECU , If ECU is updated with newer software you need to unlock it first

Check you have correct help files as maybe some are missing because it should show boot pin clearly

Search in net for OPTICAN boot pin , there are only one boot pin nog delends from tools that you use it

ok so Today i read all ok, obd, will only allow write of original 2mb read,
if i read fgtech boot i get 1.46 mb read,
I tried 7 different mods, car would not start,
I let fgtech remake chksum,
only thing i could do was rewrite the original read, 1.46 boot read,
And car started,
But no mod would allow car to start,
I have bad mod files ??
i never ever had these problems re writing mod files,
Anyone info ??

You're making money, use a genuine tool. Then no more headaches. Done many of these with CMD and X17 with no issue.

just a update, thread,
Problem wasnt tuner/s was tool, perfect read, and wrote back all ok despite car wouldnt start, think chksum issue,
I read k tag,
i wrote with k tag, and all went smooth,
think i had enough with the overated fgtech , seems great tool obd,
very hit and miss using boot mode,,,
think i will sell on soon, as i lost faith in capabilities and newer cars coming through the doors,
K tag all the way now,,,
