just buy a china kess and swap NXP! this way u dont need to get new one reprogrammed! PS they dont have trucks protocols

You will need to connect to UART ISP are the following pins: VDD(check only),GND,P2.(10),Reset, RXD,TXD

VDD (check only by Beeprog) u need to plug the pcb to usb port
GND LPC2478 is 33,63,77,......181,198
P2.10 LPC2478 is 110
Reset LPC2478 is 35
RXD LPC2478 is 204
TXD LPC2478 is 202

All the same pins with LPC1788

the Jtag tool to program the tool youself is 15$ :)
fw available everywhere free 5.001

Ktag tool with all adaptors is 61$ with free shipping

I would say it is still excellent bussines 1 NXP= 47$

Can you turn a clone kess v2 into a genuine? By programming clone nxp to think is is genuine serial number?

Nope, not possible. You could fake the serial as a genuine one, but once your tool got online and get updated your tool and the genuine one (the real genuine) will be pwned.
