can someone tell me how i can get to view my laptop on my tv.what cables do i need and where can i get them?thanks

Hi M8, it depends on the connections on your laptop and tv.
Post your laptop model and tv type and i'll point you in the right direction. Will check back tomorrow lunch.

hi mate im in work just now not to sure of the laptop model number but its a hewlitt packard.the tv is a samsung plasma i will post the exact model of laptop later when i get home.thanks

the best option is hdmi (obviously if ur lappy has a hdmi port)

otherwise,

u'll need a vga cable and an audio cable, almost all plasmas have vga support and ur lappy "should" have a vga port and ofcourse an audio out port..

best way forward is as was said....HDMI but like that depends on yer lappie as the tv is a modern one an shud have HDMI.

A lot of early plasmas dont have hdmi or vga support...

thanks for all the help, got myself tha vga and audio cable plugged them in and fired up the laptop the start up page and welcome page appeared on the tv then a sign came up saying mode not supported can anyone help in anyway?

Right click on your desktop.
Click properties.
click on display settings.

Adjust the 2ndary monitors resoloution to the native res of the tv.
