Hallo

I've to do a spare key for a Fiat Panda 169 year 2010 1.3Mjet engine.
I've tried to read the bcm (siemens 9S12DG128) via obd.
Avdi start to read the bcm and at 49% the reading stopped with a generic error.
I've also read the engine ecu just to see if it's work, and Avdi read it correctly , displaying pin number.
Anyone have experienced similar problem?
Now i'll try to open the bcm and read the mcu.
What is the most suitable interface to read this mcu, Upa, X-prog or Orange?
Thank you very much for advice.

Many thanks

Just before it starts to read turn ign off. It will then go to 100%

Very common. As said above it reads better with ign off. When it starts turn ign off and it will read.

Good Morning

I've read the mcu with Upa.Made a transponder with AVDI e coded the key with diagnostic.
All work fine.
I confirm, on this Panda Avdi can't read the mcu.
I've tried several time also with advice to turn off the ign when the Avdi start reading.
Nothing.
Also tried with engine ecu disconnected (just to test).
Thanks to all for the help.

Cheers

There exist trick to get proper communication but like usual abrites team was too lazy to check something what they sell. They ripped ioterminal without any tests on real cars.

If a bought a car
and manufacturer say it does 150mph
and turns out it only does 50
many customers would be pissed off and complain

car industry for key programming
get away with murder
Some day someone will have them for false advertising

I used AVDI to read a 05 Panda petrol siemens BCM today
It did it in 3 seconds to 100% (with ignition on)
key tool showed pin ok from the dump. I did not try the precoding as only needed pin code

on a fiat ducato with a delphi bcm, i found i had to have ignition on to get comms but turn ignition off to read bcm dump otherwise it would fail after about 10% HTH

try one from about 2010 onwards

Mine was 2010 on.
Probably a software difference not allow to read 100% from Obd.
Avdi could be upgrade or check the function again and do a workaround.

Thats what I was getting at
Fiat must have updated BCM software on the later years
