Hi Guys

I have just installed a 1m dish with a technomate 2300 motor,
alongside a dm500s. (i have a pli-jade image)

after installing, the motor does got to the corresponding
satellites, but when changing the channels it keeps on flashing
the message ''please wait while motor moves''.

even thought it has moved to lets say thor 1, if u change channels on it, it keeps saying the the above message?

i cant get my head round? the guy that installed the dish for me didnt know much about dreamboxes, so he coudnt really help me.

he did however manage to put in the longtitude and lattitude
measurements on it.

is there somethings that i should be aware of in the settings area?

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks.

I maybe wrong but I don't think your dish is truly aligned. Best way to make sure your dish is aligned is to send it to BBC World 1.0W Thor and tune it to the best picture you can possibly recieve.

If you dont get a signal on any satellite the message will remain that please wait while motor move to XXX satellite. Your dish is mis-aligned mate. Was in the same position as you few days back

Curious

before i read your message, i decided to do a factory reset, and after that perform a automatic transponder scan.

Funny eneugh everything seems to be working just fine now, except i had problems receiving canal+ nordic..but
after 3 attempts at re-scanning 0.8 thor 3/5, i've just about managed to get them!

i'm still missing Nova sport (CZE) and for some weird reason everytime i try to scan 26.e(Badr) the dish seems to scan alot of sky channels?

do you think my dish is still mis-alligned?

thanks once again guys.

It seems the dish may be mis-aligend..

the dish doesnt even go to 1.0 thor anymore, when scanning channels on 28.2e it doesnt even scan all channels
it has many missing...

same for hotbird aswell.

would any1 reccomend me hiring a different person to re-align the dish?...or im i doing something really wrong!

all the settings on the dm500 seem to be okay, it locates
28.2e and 13.e pretty well, and sometimes 19e aswell..

had no idea this motor install would be such a nightmare!

personally i'll always pay to have a motorised dish installed by a pro, you should find a decent priced installer in the yellow pages..

thanks Ops

but i did pay a dude to install it!

he just did a very shitty job!

anyway, i managed to get thor working just about...
i scanned thor first time round, got a handful of channels,
then manually aligned the dish until i got 90% reception
on that specifi channel....

after this i rescanned thor again, and got over 400 plus channels...

so im happy for the time being....but still reckon the dish
is not aligned properly...

i'll see how it goes...

Check your pole m8. It needs to be completely plumb. If it's out just a little it will not follow the arc properly.

If you manually adjusted to get a good signal on Thor than it shows that although your dish was following the arc it following the wrong arc. 1W Thor is usually the starting point for the dish so what I would do is try and get the best possible signal on 28.2E and then send to to 30W and try and get the best signal and then perhaps move to 16E etc keep repeating this process on alternate sides until you happy with your dish alignment.
