Hello All
Great forum. Haven't been able to help yet, (qualified autoelectrician), just getting back into diagnostics and bought some gear, but hopefully will be of some use eventually. I have BMW diag head clone with DIS running on GT1. When I try to connect I get
"Diagnosis bus error A system fault has occurred The connection to the diagnostic head must be checked fault number 200.168.
If I check in DIS Admin the head is connected and communicating. If I do the self test for DIS, LAN is ok but I get the following fault message for Diag head.
"DK VM-fault 154 KK EDIC -fault: fffffffb"
Anyone any ideas on this.

is your head a dk20 or ops or opps

the latter 2 will need reflash of prog card inside of unit

It's DK20. I did update from DAS but didn't make any difference

hi,ive got exactly the same fault coming up on my laptop when connected to a vehicle, did you get any luck with yours yet?

Are you running a VM Ware version of the software or a Linux version? When you open DIS and look in the top r/h corner of the screen, do you see two coloured 'stepped' graphics for the DK20 or just the lower one? If you are only seeing one, then you need to make a new connection within the admin area and reflash the head! When making a new connection, I always start the process first and then connect to the vehicle as it's searching for the interface, if this makes sense? GT1 can be a right ball-ache to set up, but once done it's a real pleasure to use!

Hi Andy,
Have you tried to make a new connection in the Admin area? Try using the 'quick connect' button & see what happens. Have you installed any other device recently that may be causing a port conflict or i.p address conflict? When you make a new connection, the new i.p number etc shoild appear in the large window with a graphic of the DK20 head, if this makes sense???

hi mate,ta for reply,it does sound like a i.p address conflict, the free head in the admin screen gets connected ok,when you then go into the main srceen to do a quick test its then when you click on quick test it will come up with this 200.168 no. diagnosis bus error.A SYSTEM FAULT HAS OCCURRED.THE CONNECTION TO THE DIAGNOTIC HEAD MUST BE CHECKED....although the 5 green bars are full,i know this somin stupid and its so frustrating..help!cheers andy(bensonbuster)

I have the same problem and the Dis application turn on Ibm T30

These are the steps I do for the connections and test a vehicle.
I tested on 5 different vehicles from 1995 to 2008 (E36, E46 and Series 1) with different cable (OBD2) and 20 pin round
And i have the same error 200.168

I am currently in contact with the person who sold my gt1 with HDD install.
Say I have my last week and it is brand new its the first time that I used.
For the moment I have not tested the cables.
I did the test on 2 IBM T30 and I have the same problem

I dont think this is a Lan or IP problem. DIS can see and connect to the DH so that wouldn't be possible if there was Lan fault. It's only DH test that returns a fault. I sent DH back to supplier yesterday and he said he'd send another when he recieves it. Long way to China and back though. Just have to be patient I suppose.

I am having the same exact issue with my eBay GT1 also. I was able to test the diagnostic head on a real GT1 and it worked fine, so this is definitely some kind of software issue with the hard drive. I'm going to call the place in China and try to get a new hard drive on Monday...good thing it came with a warranty.
