New to MCU reading.

I Have a bravo I need to read IMO box. with above Motorola mcu. how do I read the UPA wiring diagram how do you know which pins to lift. can I read in circuit.
I'm happy doing eproms but a little unsure with mcus.

Found solution on the codex manual On the hinkleys website.. No lift pins just solder to pads on back of board..
Does a dotted line on the ups manual mean lift pins?
