Hi guys, I know this has been done over & over, but after going through many hours of searching I still have a few questions.

I tried to read a 2d47j out of circuit with an xprog clone & used security but it didnt work. I re cleaned all the legs & it read, but it had erased all the data. Its no problem, it was a spare I was using for testing so I dont need to get it working. I am assuming that because of a bad connection, it failed to bypass the security.

What I wanted to know was if it was from a car, could I write a dump from another 2d47j, make a key & then sync the DME & EWS unit with something like AVDI, would it work?

I had read all about the risks and was doing this one for practice so when I car comes in with this masket, id be sure, im just worried if this was to happen, what would I do?

Yes you can use file from other ews, make spare key and sync with ecu.

thanks mate, I was hoping to hear that.........do you know if that feature with avdi works? & I assume it has to have the same HW & SW number as well as the right maskset?

I don't have avdi functions so i din't think i'm the best ti tell you... I find manually immo data and write them manually to ews and just sync with gt1 or inpa.

so I got hold of another second hand ews to try & them same thing happened. I pressed read, it looked like it was bypassing security, but came up all Fs and is erased.

My xprog is a clone, but until now has seemed to work well, what am I doing wrong??? legs are clean, I used the bypass security mode, I'm running out of ideas

don't loose your time m8 with xprg-m....do you have upa?if not....get one.

I have both, have read in this forum many times that UPA wont bypass the security & xprog is the way to go.

am realy lost here, I thought this would work, am wondering if its my clone or do I need to buy ETL

I haven't tried with upa. Many people here have said not to.

why did you remove the mcu in the first place ??? You have in your Xprog package a ews adapter, why didnt you use it ? i read and wrote many times with succes

I tried ews3 with xprogM clone too - always bad read but without erase issue.
I'm using ORANGE 5 with succes
if You don't want spendas much money on ORANGE5 prog - try cheap AK90 or EWS Editor- both china tools work ok - after read same memory content as on ORANGE 5 (tested)

my man if im understanding you correctly you take immodata from where? I know its easy to get the ews dump from using ak90 but then you still
need to change the isn if you are needing to match to the dme (supposing we changing the dme or the ews ) my question is how do you do the isn match
because inpa wont do it if the ews and dme isn don't match??? any help here would be appreciated as im trying to match a me9.2 to a ews 3 without any luck.
