Hi folks,
i try to read CAS3 (mcu 9S12X, mask 0L15Y) with Xprog5.0 (clone), but it always stops at "bypass security"-step.
I tried 2 different CAS3 modules but no success.
After that i tried to read EWS4.3 with MC9S12D64(2L86D) and it works fine, so the xprog and adaptor board seems to work.
I checked the wiring several times and compared it with xprog wiring diagram and some other wirings from internet but i cant see any error.
Any idea what to do?

Xprog needs to lift pin for proper reading. Even newer version. And this is its only bad point.

What are the differences between v5.0 and 5.51?
Only some more devices or real improvements in signal- and timing qualtity?
Long time ago i alredy read a CAS3 with xprog but i dont know the exact mcu typ or mask i only see that i have the files.
Can anyone confirm that it works to read 9S12X with V5.0?

I made a new wiring harness but this time with coaxial cable for EXTAL instead of the twisted pair version and now it works more or less.
I can read and write both CAS3 modules with MC9S12X but because of the very bad signal/timing quality of the xprog you have to read and save it several times, even if the verifying was okay.
When you have 2 or 3 equal files you can be sure that the reading was okay.
Its not surprising that some guys have problems with reading and writing the MC9S12...
Just check the signals with an oscilloscope and you?ll see the atrocious signal integrity, but when you know it you can live with it.
Just my two cents.
Maybe it helps somebody faced with the same problems.

For read Off board You need Quartz :P
Xprog 5.0 read with many errors but work. You don't need lift any pins.Tested many times CAS2 CAS3 and CAS3+

Using shorter wires could improve your result.
I would recomend a r270, never failed me.
