Tacho Universal Sync Error

Hi Guys,

I have a problem with a TU2008 with red PCB:

- first i get the message "update language"
- i changed the 2 29F040 (IC) with 2 from a repair kit (01/2008)
-then i get the message $$$sync$$$
-i changed the AT24C02
- now it is working but:

need very long too boot (without the typical "klick")
display has some errors

How can i solve this problem?

by the way:
why are the IC's damaged so often -> i had aroung 3 TU2008 with IC problems -> one gets damaged during the search for a Logincode at a MM Odometer of a Golf4 (IC's very very warm)

You need reprogram both 29F40 with correct dump?s. Dump of green pcb and Jan 08 isn?t fully compatible with red pcb July 08.
This means that now you have problems with display and tacho need very time to boot.

Here it is. Just read out from my working device.

Your red pcb also not have the PIC12F629 and Xtal? Do you know why others contain it?

And does somebody know why I can't connect with V-term to my device? I read the instruction but for me there is no prompt for pressing the "S" button.

Since tachodump 1.0 makes my antivirusprogram spin it eyes. Is it possible to download a tachodump for TU2008 that is NOT virusinfected?:questionmark:

I use Avira antivir and the latest updates have, kindly, removed all traces of Tachodump 1.0 from my system and will even refuse to let me download it again!:mad:

Can i put in the diga some news eprom 29f040??
I ask that because i only can program the ic 111 and the ic 112 i cant, i dont know why?

IC 111: EON EN29F040A-70JC

IC 112: EON EN29F040A-70CC

I think its because the IC 112 is the 70CC

with some another 29f040 is it work??

Maybe yor Ic 112 it?s damaged. You can buy a new one and program, no problem.

Have you a good backup of Ic111 and Ic112?
What data are you programmed on new ic?
Are you sure that don?t interchange ic111 data with ic112?
What type of pcb have your tacho and what version is?

its the file from carinae1995 from post up there, i dont have interchange the ics (im sure) and i have the green pcb and green light.
I dont know where to see version, i see whrite on the down pcb: 08.110.02 by MotoSoft GmbH

Hi Motocarlos, if you try to read an 24C02 using the DIP 8 ADAPTER (not use the cable soic8). what hapen?

Read the memory ?

hi all friends . today i received from china a new tach pro with blue pcb. i try to connect in my audi s3 via OBD but nothing ....... neither the screen nor anything lit by the new device .... after several times plugging and unplugging the power cord the screen lit but had nothing but a blue only blue .... nothing else. please let whoever can help me solve my problem ...i attached some pictures maybe help us...

When you say "several times plugging and unplugging the power cord " wath?s you mean? you plug the OBD and you plug the the power cable?
If you plug the OBD cable, you don?t plug the power cable. The tacho is powered by OBD port.
For Audi S3 you need to know wath type of dash the car have. You can check this with vag-com for example or take off the dash and look at the reference.
Depends of wath type dash you have and wath year, you can make by OBD or by dash connector or by eeprom. You know?

when plug via power cable not anything in my lcd

You made bad at first connecting OBD cable and power. Now Tacho don?t work anymore. It is possible that some component has been burnt or data of any of the flashes are corrupt.

hey guys, I've tried programming eeprom data onto my chips, hc11 and hc12 and the 24c02, but it still shows sync, so im going to use a null modem cable and connect it and do the repair/update and hope that works! however can someone please either post the correct .exe file to do the update/repair? my TU says "Jan 24 2008" under version when its turned on? i believe there are 2 different update/repair programs and i want to make sure i use the correct one!
