Get one of these kits, works 100%

have you tried with 95020? Do you need to lift any pins?

Cheap Digiwigi clone works 100% on these, clip and go, never had a problem with 95020. Just replace the cheap Chinese clip.

Reads on board no problem, no need to lift any pins.

are these in-circuit 'dongles' also necessary for the uusp-s?
i thought it supported icp without the use of these 'dongles'?

New upa does not appear to be any better or worse than old upa at in circuit. I have both.

i think what i meant to say was, is the 'in-circuit dongle' also required for the new uusp-s?
i believe this 'in-circuit dongle' lowers the voltage to the chip so it can be read using the the older upa-usb.
does the newer uusp-s not need this 'in-circuit dongle' because the programmer lowers the voltage?

many thanks

The principle behind ICSP is nothing but lowering target voltage, the best IC for majority of the device is using a mosfet bidirectional level transfer, eventhough the mosfet was designed by Philips for I2C, it works also for SPI, and the best thing is, it is bi-directional.

And also, if you notice that the UPA crashes/hangs when used in-circuit, it means your target pulls down a lot of current, to protect you programmer and your USB port, the programmer will cut off itself, if you want to rectify this, you can use a separate supply for the target board.

Yes, sometimes works, sometimes not. It depends actually on the target circuit most of the time.
