If you've not done this before then can I recommend you take it to your local decoder..,
they'll not charge you much

im am pretty good at soldering, i just have no experience with i2c memory chips...
i have a jtag programmer but i guess that wont work with i2c ?
i think i need a simple parallel prot programmer ? do u have any schematic, who u know work ? there are 100 in the web, some with i2c buses some with only resistros
desoldering the chip wont be a problem (just 8 pins)
i was at peugoet, they wanted 50 euros, and there is no decoder near me

OK, firstly you'll need a 24C programmer, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201089460597?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
This will do the job cheaply.. (?2.41p ~ e3.38)

(Here is the software for this programmer)
