View Full Version : W202 EIS EZS Starts 4-5 times then dead

1998 W202 had all keys lost, Tried to read HC05 MCU1 But it erased the MCU.
SO managed to read MCU 2, Make Key Dumps from MCU 2, programmed MCU1 with MCU 2 data. Put back in car, started.
Car started about 5 maybe more times, then nothing. Made another key, Same thing again.
Is the problem from using MCU2 - MCU1?

I think, mcu is damaged...
Don?t waste your time with trial and error. Buy EIS with exactly the same part number from junkyard. In best case, with keys. Revirginize ECU and ESL. Then teach in with DAS. Start car and enjoy the day.. :)

I have made a key from MCU2, After I use key that i make 5-6 times, Car no longers starts, ESL doesnt unlock, EZS does not turn

ok mate, I have seen people in the past blank MCU1 with UPA and use MCU 2 dump in MCU 1 and car works ok. I cant see how i have HW problem, soldering is spot on

Microcontrollers are like little personalcomputers. You just programm the eeprom. If you ve got problem with other circuits in mcu, you'll never be able to make the eis working properly. Eeprom and dump is just a little part..

Did you make the new key on a used track or not used?

Are you using NEC key or original 705e6 motorola key?

Using NEC key mate, I do have an old Motorola key lying around tho. Can the hash sync be solved?

What kind of diagnostic tools are u suggest?
I am locksmith, dont invest much on diagnostic tools. Hope u give me some advice.

Get a used EZS with same part number and or for same car from scrapyard ,read it and make you nkey .
After that reset esl and try it on bench with new eis ,motorola esl is just plug and play after reset.
read ecu eprom and renew it ,can use MB REnew ,its here on DK just choose your car model and ecu and it guide you ,after renew ecu dump rewrite it .
After you have to use STAR to syncronise ecu because it will be at virgin state (like factory)
But on bench try more than ^ times (LOL) your new set eis-elv.
If all is ok cacr should start if there is no other problem.
Have you checked battery voltage on battery ?check it also when you try to cranck ,low voltage can damage ezs flash ,voltage must NOT go down more than 9/10 volt when you cranck and also check voltage at the same time on ezs and esl .
Be an locksmith is not a reason to not invest in Diagnostic tool Mate !!!! Spcialy if you will work with newest car model like toyota,MB,Range rover etc....
Sometime diagnostic tool are more fatest than other tool for adding key like on range rover .renault etc...
Will save you time to unmount and mount agin the immo and ecu etc....

I still new on making Benz key, I have successful make few Eis add key and all lost situation, but recently I add a w208 MCU type 705 key, feel very street. After I done the key, everything alright, but after 2 hours, owner came back said Windows can't up and down, I dont have diagnosis tools so only can remove Eis and resoldering the MCU 0d69j again. Then every back to normal.
after 1 hour the owner came back again, said Windows and signal both not working. Actually I dont how to do it anymore. Time is too late, my workshop friend all already close, Then the only thing I can do is check again the MCU and resoldering again use multimeter check the MCU pin conform all pin are connected. Lastly he does come back anymore. This is very bad experience.
For this lessons, I need to prepare and stop this happen again.
Can anyone give some advise, which diagnostic tool I should buy?
Universe diagnostic can virgin this ecu and married them?
Or only star diagnostic?

If the windows not works, it is a problem with interieur can bus. Interieur can bus is controlled by EIS internal processor. Buy another EIS with exactly the same partnumber on junkyard. Make keys, virgin Esl and ecu. Esl sync by itself. Teach in ecu with DAS. Best way is to buy DAS xentry. I don't know, which universal tools can help ?!

You can try 1000 dumps.. It will not works with damaged processor. DAS cannot virginize ecu's. You have to solder eprom. Which benz do you have exactly ? I have to know this to write the procedure exactly..
