Hello guys
Problem, this f5s about two years old start to freeze especially on hd channels but also in some other channels sd, sometimes can't do anything else to the box so I have to switch off in the socket and back on again.
Only happens on my 30w sat channels and not on 28e channels. I use a diseq switch with both feeds. So I try without switch and still happens. So looked at the lnb and it had loads of cracking bits so I bought a new one hope that fixed the problem. Didn't.
Updated firmware and still same problem. Did a update with a rs323 cable too, but still same problem. I put all tp one by one did a sear and still same problem. If I check signal the 30w is up and down constantly ence the freezing, yet same dish and cables on my vu solo and starsat the signal quality is stable.
Deleted all satellites lists and kept only 30w and still same problem.
Any ideas ? Am I missing something?
Should I bin it? Like I said have other boxes but bin it is the easy option. I wanna to maybe with your help fix it. Thanks in advance

Give it a few weeks and the power supply board will probably give up. Common fault of freezing followed by capp blowing.

Yes I realise that there's nothing else I can do to it. Like I said before it's not for the ?35, fixing, sorting sat boxs out that's the joy I take from it. This one like u guys said, ad it.

I would try another power supply first.

My F5s does the same, it locks up on HD channels only and the tv screen shows vertical purple lines. The only way is to un-plug the power lead to the box and plug it back in and quickly press the favourite key, otherwise it locks up again.
Another thing I noticed is that the box switches itself off at around 30% if carrying out manual search, it does not go past this point for manual tuning.
I have already tried another power pack, tried latest firmware & channel list but made no difference.
Any ideas?
