This company here >>> http://www.warrantywise.co.uk/ ,what do you think of it ??

I had seen their advert on the tv and thought they sounded pretty good so I looked them up online and checked it out.

I haven't ever been one for these type of warranties/companies as nine out of ten times there is always a catch and basically a total
rip off.

With this one though they look very reasonable to me although the hidden catch may still be there, can someone in the know
please give this a good looking over to see if it really is pretty good , looks good to me but like I said, a big catch may well be
hidden though ??

I like the part that allows you to choose the level of cover you want, the higher you pay the better it gets and looks especially good.

They are saying they would cover things like Major Breakdowns including things like even your engine going capoot because
of snapped timing belt, knackered gearbox, entire breaking system etc etc lots of things, if its true I mean.

My car isn't worth much money nowdays because its just about 10 years old, so a major breakdown would cause me to basically
have to bin it if I had to pay a massive garage repair as it just wouldn't be worth it, according to them it doesn't matter the age,
make or model of a car or value either.

Another good thing about it is that it includes Breakdown/recovery which I already pay the RAC for but I am not quite sure the
level of breakdown cover they give, hmmm.

Anyways, hope someone has time to look into this, never know, if your like me you may even be interested in it too...Thank you.

They only cover engine & gearbox, only catch is you need to show service history, not modified, number of miles on the clock any of them and they have got you on the neck….http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/roflmao.gif

hi mate, but I have full service history which is mostly all main dealer and genuine Vauxhall parts, so I guess that wouldn't be a problem then ??

Regards my mileage its only round about 70K, nothing really for a car like this, even had a new timing belt and water pump put on maybe couple of months back too etc.
Only had that done as I just thought it was best idea.

I was wondering if anyone also knows the answer to this question.

When my car was in the dealership just couple of months back I was moaning at them about something because they left a part loose and It was clattering away etc and they took
it back in the next day and sorted it out which was ok.

However, because I had reason too and moaned, I asked the manager for something free so he gave me a note for a free Mot when its due which is in a few months, BUT, I was thinking because they are
the main dealer they will be extremely particular when looking over things and may fail it for something that either isn't wrong with it or something else unlike the normal wee private garage
I have always went to every time and it has passed no probs, that's obviously due to it being looked after pretty well though.

What I was wondering is, if I use this "Free Mot" and they did fail it and hit me with a big silly list of faults at very costly prices to have fixed, does that get logged on the the DVLA's computers
or whatever ??

Reason why I ask is that I was thinking if I did use it and hope for the best then if its passes that's great but if not would I still be allowed to goto my normal private garage that normally does my
Mot's and is very fair indeed (and pay for an mot test obviously), E.G - he wouldn't fail it on daft things such as an indicator bulb etc, he would pop another in and charge me the 3 quid or whatever it is etc, its called being sensible.

That's what I was wondering as I wouldn't like tied to the Vauxhall dealership if it did fail, know what I mean ?

I hope someone knows the answer to that one please ?

I take it then that's its a con, aye ?? Would that be the same for another company that I seen gets a much better write up than them, this one is called Warranty Direct ??

Surely the powers that be must be able to clamp right down on companies like this if they are rubbish ?? or does everyone just scrap their cars after paying into those companies for possibly years ?? doesn't sound right to me man but maybe it is, I have never purchased such I thing as I said, and they certainly aren't anywhere near free or evencheap, they are expensive to pay up monthly, know what I mean ??

Eh can't be bothered to read that drivel, warranty company's normally work like this.

say heater motor not working, take to a VAT regestarded garage.

1) they check it out, needs new reustir and plug burnt.

2) YOU pay diagnosis.

3) new part say ?50 they pay that

4) they look up, there computer says "30 mins"
Garage know its either 1 hour or 10 mins, still
Only paying max ?40/hour INCKUDING VAT.

5) they pay 20 mins labour only. YOU pay for new bit of loom & fitting.

6) there's a rounded bolt takes 1 hour that 1 your charged.

7) garage submit invoice don't get paid for months

8) we invoice customer let theme. Claim.
