This is probably a stupid thread to start but jus curious because a customer insists he spoke to someone at dealers and they told him a diesel ecu will work on a petrol vehicle. The vehicle is a vw polo 2003.

What are dk's thoughts on this claim ?
If I immo off dieseld ecu will vehicle at least even start ?

wow that is good news , i must find this dealer , he will solve a lot of my problems !!!!
i will 100% disagree with this , lot of things to consider
pinouts and a whole lot of input output signals , voltages to drive injectors/coils and ECU MAPPING
i tried to put a petrol ecu from vw into a petrol audi , part numbers was diferent , it started but a lot of faults
so my opinion
diesel ecu on petrol , just plug and go , no way

haha i love it ,it wont stop vw still having emission problems= deep crap.

or might he be saying the ecu will fit and meant reprogramming it for the petrol version?
