Hi,
I have 24c64 dump with 110591km (in attachment).
I heard also that every 2000/4000km flash of nec is updated, and odometer starts new counting in eeprom.
1. It is possible to clear my dump to 110000? What parts need to be cleared or maybe someone may help me?
2. And what version of odometer I have, updated every 2000 or 4000? It is possible to distinguish using dump?

Thanks!

What exactly you will achieve? In flash nothing change durning driving. Only changes are in eeprom. Unique encryption key is stored in NEC.

I want correct mileage. It is stored only in eeprom?
I suspect not, and because of that I want to done it by small changes few times - I will rewrite eeprom to lowest possible value before it is moved to flash.
That's why I'm asking about period 2000/4000 km when NEC flash is updated.
I don't have obd tool.

It is stored in eeprom only for sure by VDO clusters. You can make simple try to proof it. Drive some time with this car and then write backup eeprom again. You see same mileage as was before.

It is not possible to it manually, Only OBD.

Why it is not possible? Because mileage in encrypted in eeprom using unique key?
(autofan1965 suggested that it is possible to revert old values, I can confirm this for short distance)

Thanks for all answers, but I feel this is still not clear to me :)

NEC 24x is possible via dump only UP distance, not to down

Every 1000 km block is written crypted in eeprom so you cannot change it. But you can clear mileage to xxxx000 km so 110000 km is possible.

To sum all answers:
1. mileage can be restored any time if we have 24c64 dump from that dash.
2. it is possible to change last XXX km

And I suspect also it is possible to set 0 km by removing entire crypted mileage block in 24c64 :) And then long play with adding 999!

Now I have all informations (if I'm right), thanks all.

No, this will result in ERROR on dash obviously ;-)

Not possible by eeprom only, you need canbus (OBD) connection to cluster and proper tools.
