ive got a original kess v2, I have tried many times Vauxhall opel cars, astra 1.3 cdti, astra 1.7 cdti and insignia 2.0 cdti always seem to get generic error when trying to read them, why is this, only with gm/opel ecu, what tools work with these and why wont kess do them as there listed in active protocols???

1. Astra 1.7 CDTI --> Denso ECU --> you cannot read via OBD --> must be readed via Jtag
2. Astra 1.3 CDTI --> Marelli ECU --> should work with OBD... Otherwise, try to read via BDM... BDM should always works with proper tool !
3. Insignia 2.0 CDTI --> Bosch EDC17C19 --> This is a tricore processor. You can read via OBD, but only with boot-mode. You must open ECU and solder bootmode cable.

It?s a dream, to read every car with OBD. In some cases, there are other things to do before OBD-reading.

Take a look to the KessV2 vehicle list..

For EDC17C19, take a look to the EVC-page:
