There where articles in the Telegraph years ago from readers letters, at the same time that Jif changed to Cif.

The woman writing in felt it was a good thing because there was already another product on the market called Jif and she was confused...

Ok so one is scouring fluid for cleaning baths in a big white bottle with a picture of a bathroom... the other is in a nice yellow lemon coloured, lemon shaped bottle with lemon joice in it.

I can clearly see how one could be confused into spraying bathroom scourer over her pancakes...

Cif an Jif nearly had me reaching for a noose. How dare they mess with oxo. Nostalgic days watching ready steady cook, dipping bread into an oxo cube in hot water, wishing I could cook proper food.
