Hello it seems that you have a problem coding your direction.
disconnect the battery cables 2 - 2 cables connect 10 seconds to empty all the computers.
reconnecteur the 2 cables on the battery wait a good 10 minutes that all the computers are reinialisent ...
to make contact and training with official diag tool (KTS-GUTMANN-ACTIA ...) all have to work ..

Hello C1214 code corresponds to a coding error of ABS
Are what your direction is original of this vehicle or you have mounted a direction of another vehicle?

hi friend
it is very possible that if the car price water the electronics module from the steering column is damaged or defective component there are specialized companies that arrive to repair the modules.
Think of checking your fuse box and your BSM and your BSI UCH or ... Good looking ..
ps water is the enemy of electronics

Hello guys!
I found this old thread. Multiple times I had exactly the same problem with a 500L in which I replaced the steering column. I couldn't solve the problem. This is not a problem due to damaged or defective components, this is due to internal configuration of eps that doen't match with what body computer is expecting.
Any advice from anyone?

Hi
Did anyone found a solution to this problem, we are starting to repair some 500L electric steering columns but need to clear the C1214 code that we get when changing columns over, has anyone found a way to do this?
