i tested to read ford focus 2003 1.6 16v and ford mondeo2001 2.0tddi
and i can not reading
mondeo 3 2001 2.0 tddi i read ok with fgtech v54

I had one ford focus tddi that i could read and the other i couldnt, but with other tools was also not possible.
Kess will read it fine, it will be the car if it is readable or not

i have had this problem before some clones will read some wont the problem is in the multi-layer PCB...

normally with Delphi ecu...

EEC V and Delphi on ford. use saej 1850 protocol. In older kess versions they used a OKI chip, not its integrated in NXP.
if your tool gives error change session. then the PWM pulse is bad , that means bad oscillator, NXP, or PCB layer circuit...who knows...
Some china clones work some not! usually the golden ones with green yellow LED did
