View Full Version : passat1.6tdi funny dpf reading value

Hi guys i seen today passat 1.6tdi 2011 ,it had in past egr off and P codes removed for egr.
after 4-5months car is showing negative values of dpf soot.
there is two ...
1.calculated value 28g
2.measure value -2.39
car has P2458 code for regeneration duration.
but if you want to regen it wont start because is showing -2.39 load of soot.
any body seen something like that??

Have you tried resetting the pressure sensor?

Software are bad from factory,after 150.000 or 180.000km the ecu can not calculate dpf ash value or differential pressure value
Use any new calibrattion update software and no more negative value from differential pressure sender !

i think software no matter, but you can have right. Problem is with disabled egr, dpf will be not work correct anymore.

set new Dpf filter, after that do regeneration.

I think you should install new different pressure sensor and see. If it isn't ok I am sure you can make DPF OFF and everything will be perfect :stung:

What EGR hysterese maps do you change ?
I have the same problem on a Tiguan 2.0TDI.
He does not regenerate the DPF in normal mode and in service regeneration.
After changing some hysterese maps i can regenerate DPF with VCDS

Mate maybe you don't read carefully his first post. His car is passat with 1.6 engine and yours is with 2.0tdi the both ecu are different

must be software problem is i did not see this in past.
i think to that fault is in factory software.
if i get this back some day i will check if ecu update will help.

yes make software update , after that do regeneration and all be fine

i did software update(flash) but regen not possible value is -0.02 once you start the car for few min.it counts value to negative.have to look for update that will confi.all ecu

Hi all again had a golf 2010 today for egr off and i checked soot calculated and it shows -1.21.soot measured 34g and dpf light was on.that garage done force regen and measured value went down to 8g but calculated value was still showing -1.01g
car was never flashed before ecu still was locked,so i wounder did any body manege to fix this issue.?

I did not check anything. them cars i do for different garages so i dont check any thing on them.just i notice that they go to negative value.

Once i get some thing like that in my garage then i will check few things.but i dont think its down to sensors.friend did change once pressure sensor in 1.6tdi but made no difference

ive got a skoda 1.6tdi im having same problems with if anyone has found a fix
p2458 fault code regeneration duration engine light on, dpf light on, coil light flashing and in limp mode
dpf off didnt sort it
put original file back in car and new pressure sensor still fault and in limp mode
can do dtc off and still in limp mode and just dpf light on
tried resetting sensor and telling it its had a new dpf but still same
soot calculated goes to 24.1 when you tell it its had a new one then try and do a regeneration
soot measured goes neg till it gets to -3.0 then jumps to +9.10g and stays there wont drop
driving me mad
