Help with DM800 HD PVR

Hi guys. I got my dm800hd pvr from Singapore and it was working fine. It's been a while since that last time I used my dreambox as I have migrated to another country (Taiwan). Can anyone advise me if I can use my dreambox here and can I also have the link for the latest firmware/image so I can reflash my box?

First you need to find out what type of DVB standard Taiwan is using.

In Taiwan, some digital cable television systems use DVB-C, though most customers still use analog NTSC cable television. The government planned adopting ATSC or the Japanese ISDB-T standard as NTSC's replacement. However, the country has chosen the European DVB-T system instead. Public Television Service (PTS) and Formosan TV now provided high definition television. The former has a channel called HiHD; the latter uses its HD channel for broadcasting MLB baseball.

Now you need just to confirm its either DVB-C or DVB-T, in areas where satellite channels are available, perhaps DVB-S or DVB-S2?

Just get the DM800 tuner module accordingly.

Im using satellite dish currently from provided by another cable provider, i brought my dm800hd here to see if i can use it with the satellite dish and get free channels. Can you recommend an image? Appreciate if you can provide me the link. My box is getting no ca found error and i will be flashing it soon as i get a working image.

To my understand, Taiwan is using dvb-s as I've previously stay there for 1.5yrs.

You still can use your 800hd just that you need to buy a dvb-s tuner. Tuner is plug & play for 800hd unlike the dm500.

As for what image to use, don't think anyone in SG able to comment.
